The Tunturi T80 treadmill
has enough options to make it more than noticeable among the tough competition. With a variety of
user control and comfort features coupled with some other add on options, the Tunturi
T80 treadmill is made for home and light commercial use.
Designed by the Finnish Accell Group, the T80 model is one of
many treadmills offered by this powerhouse Scandinavian
company. Tunturi is known not only for its treadmills, but also for being the
largest bicycle manufacturer in Finland. What really makes this company and its
machines stand out, however, is
the sheer longevity of its existence. Tunturi has a track record that spans
nearly a century – making it one of the oldest manufacturers around.

Purchasers of the Tunturi T80 will find a nice
information center display that provides a scrolling
mechanism for giving feedback. The readout covers time elapsed, distance
traveled, speed, elevation, calories burned, heart rate and more. Manual
training and heart rate control exercise modes are also offered. The treadmill model comes
with eight preset profiles that are scaleable for intensity and time. Twenty
memory slots are available for self-made profiles and there is a condition test
and running test included along with a variety of other features.
The motor on the T80 treadmill is a 2.5 horsepower
continuous duty that handles a speed range of 0.3 to 12.5 miles per hour. Its
incline range is 0 to 10 percent. Unlike some of Tunturi’s other models, this
one provides a fairly roomy running area that measures out at 20-by-56 inches.
The maximum user capacity is nice 330 pounds, larger than other Tunturi
treadmills.
In addition, a wireless heart rate monitor is standard on this machine, which
has a foldable sister, the T80F.
 Similar to other machines in
Tunturi's line, the
T80 treadmill comes with two-year warranty. This is decent in the field, but
hardly the best offered by manufacturers in the price range.
For a total price nearing the $4,000 mark, the Tunturi T80
treadmill offers nice options, a solid company reputation and a reputation of
durability.
